RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the development of a central database for use in experience analysis studies, focusing on building procedures to automatically transform and manipulate raw data files of various formats for upload.
  • Develop code to incorporate additional calculated fields within central database according to needs of experience analysis work.
  • Ensure thorough and proper documentation of processes is kept, including any data mappings, transforms, manipulations, etc. from start to finish.
  • Work with experience analysis actuaries to test database output in development environment with an end goal of signoff to a SOX compliant production environment.
  • Aid in onboarding of Pension Risk Transfer business into database, as well as any new business reinsured or acquired.
  • Collaboration with actuarial experience analysts to ensure seriatim data of various blocks of business is kept consistent for upload into the central database.
  • Participate in ad hoc actuarial projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field and completion of 1 exam.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field and completion of 3 exams and actively working towards ASA/FSA designation, plus 2 years of experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills preferred.
  • Experience with manipulation of large data sets preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • Exposure to life annuities and reinsurance a bonus.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R and/or Power-Query preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite necessary.
