RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribution to the warehousing and documentation of current and proposed experience analysis processes across the organization.
  • Development of a central warehouse that documents and maintains key actuarial assumptions for each business unit.
  • Collaboration with actuarial IT to ensure seriatim data of various blocks of business are kept consistent for upload and storage in central database.
  • Test output from central database in development environment to sign off into production for use in ongoing experience analysis.
  • Perform periodic experience analysis using database output for various lines of business, with a focus on key business metrics including surrenders, withdrawals, utilization, and deaths.
  • Propose changes to current actuarial assumptions based on analysis results when appropriate.
  • Aid in development of ongoing Pension Risk Transfer mortality study analysis.
  • Ensure any analysis performed remains SOX compliant, and work with auditors as needed.
  • Participate in ad hoc actuarial projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field and completion of 1 exam.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field and completion of 3 exams and actively working towards ASA/FSA designation, plus 2 years of experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills preferred.
  • Experience with manipulation of large data sets preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • Exposure to life annuities and reinsurance a bonus.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Power Query preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite necessary.
