RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and pursue validations and adjustments of market models as part of the model governance within the internal model.
  • Drive the introduction of next generation cat modeling solutions at the company.
  • Oversee the development of the company internal CAT models and tools as well as hazard and pricing layers for underwriting.
  • Company consulting on Nat Cat related topics including post-event loss analytics and services.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders like cat model vendors, relevant industry initiatives, the scientific community and media.
  • Relationship management with rating agencies and regulators.
  • Drive personal development of the team members with active feedback culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Academic background and degree in natural sciences, PhD in relevant field is of advantage.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge as well as programming experience.
  • Know-how of reinsurance business; know-how of primary insurance business is of advantage.
  • Strong expertise in common Cat vendor models.
  • Network with scientific community and track record of working with scientific data providers.
  • Fluent in business English. German and other languages welcome.
  • Expertise in leadership roles of diverse and project teams in insurance, reinsurance or a broker environment, preferably in an international setting.
  • Experience in cat risk analytics of large insurers or reinsurers portfolios.
  • Experience with Solvency II processes and communication to international regulators is a must.
  • Experience in communicating to senior stakeholders and non-technical professionals in an insurance/reinsurance environment.
  • Experience in working with internal and external communication. Media experience is a plus.
  • Experience in working in an international environment with a wide range of interfaces.
  • Hands-on understanding of validating and adjusting probabilistic cat models.
  • Track record of developing probabilistic cat models and tools.
