RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement and track the unit’s action plan in keeping with the organization’s strategic directions and in alignment with the other units, with a view to managing performance.
  • Build and use large databases, both structured and non-structured, to accelerate the completion of research projects within the Modelling and Research Competency Centre.
  • Innovate through the use of predictive modelling and analytics to help the organization continuously advance while focusing on profitable growth.
  • Innovate to improve data access and modelling tools within the Modelling and Research Competency Centre in a context of information management transformation.
  • Demonstrate a strategic mindset while working in close collaboration with your internal and external partners with a view to offering innovative solutions that are in line with business objectives and the internal context.
  • Apply management and communication practices encouraging change management, skills development, engagement and talent retention, consistent with the organization’s values.
  • Remain on the forefront of analytics and predictive modelling by attending seminars or webinars, by reading pertinent scientific articles, by organizing and facilitating meetings to discuss technical topics, by monitoring innovative practices and by establishing partnerships with IT departments in charge of analytics and predictive modelling tools.
  • Provide the organization with technical guidance for analytics and predictive modelling by regularly organizing technical consultation meetings, by conducting peer reviews for other actuarial departments and by organizing training sessions on best practices for employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial sciences, statistics or applied mathematics.
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience, including a minimum of five years of management experience.
  • Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written.
