RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identifies and implements appropriate Treasury solutions to facilitate completion of reinsurance transactions in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Provides subject matter expertise with respect to banking, trust & custody, foreign exchange, and collateral arrangements.
  • Is responsible for the identification and implementation of financial and functional aspects of complex transactions. Promotes consistency with best practices and operational efficiency throughout the process.
  • Reviews proposals, reinsurance agreements, and trust agreements; advises deal teams how to address currency, liquidity, and contingent collateral risks. Escalates issues to risk committees, accordingly.
  • Facilitates Treasury group’s oversight activities with respect to review and approval processes for new transactions.
  • Manages the delivery of Treasury services supporting reinsurance transactions.
  • Coordinates with Investment Solutions, Finance, Legal, and other functional groups to ensure a successful transaction structure, timely completion, and on boarding of reinsurance transactions.
  • Negotiates agreements with banking partners, coordinates all trust and custody account openings and other services needed to support transactions in the region.
  • Coordinates ongoing support for in-force transactions with cash management, investments, and administration functions.
  • Builds relationships inside and outside the company.
  • Represents the Global Treasury function in the region.
  • Works actively with other functional groups associated with initiatives.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with financial institutions.
  • Coordinates regional efforts with the headquarters Treasury function.
  • Maintains quantitative models to measure, monitor and mitigate currency risk.
  • Completes quarterly F/X Committee and Treasury currency risk reporting. Performs F/X Value-at-Risk modeling, scenario analyses, and F/X stress testing. Author quarterly currency market commentary. Supports policy and compliance activities related to currency risk oversight.
  • Performs financial analysis, completes special projects, and supports audit requests, as required.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business discipline.
  • 8+ years accounting, treasury, or related finance experience.
  • 3+ years foreign exchange experience.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking and treasury products and services in the Asia Pacific region, including emerging markets.
  • Advanced knowledge of foreign currency markets.
  • Understanding of accounting for currency derivatives.
  • Understanding of fixed income pricing and duration principles.
  • Knowledge of securities settlement processes, including securities depositories.
  • Advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced ability to perform quantitative and financial analysis.
  • Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions.
  • Expert oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey complex concepts in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with a variety of functional and technical disciplines, at all levels.
  • Advanced ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead projects, establish goals, appropriately set priorities, and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision, adapt quickly, take initiative and demonstrate accountability.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree or progress towards.
  • CTP or other treasury certification, or progress towards.
  • Experience working with collateral structures, trust and custody concepts, and AML/KYC related documentation requirements.
  • Project management or change management experience.
  • Insurance/Reinsurance experience.
  • Progress towards FLMI.
  • Experience using treasury management systems.
  • PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience.
  • Strong influencing skills, demonstrating the ability to work with cross-functional teams to find solutions, resolve issues.
  • Ability to analyze transaction related legal agreements and identify opportunities for negotiation.
