  • Develops, maintains, and runs models and templates for use in forecasting, financial reporting, reserving, calculation of economic capital, and determination of embedded value.
  • Provides analysis and evaluation of model results and presents results in an appropriate manner to facilitate senior actuary review.
  • Develops current period accruals and provides detailed write-ups on financial results to assist senior actuaries with the quarterly financial reporting.
  • Acquires, aggregates, and develops data for use in experience studies, trend analysis, financial reporting, and risk management. Develops and maintains suitable reports for use by senior actuaries in their ongoing review of the business.
  • Provides support for cash flow testing and assists in completion of the Exhibits and Schedules as required for quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Participates in discussions with clients on financial results, experience trends, and proposed remedies to correct any financial deterioration.
  • Actively manages multiple financial reporting responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Works with internal departments to meet Solvency II, Economic Capital, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively seeks ways to improve processes and create efficiencies.
  • Works to build strong relationships with others in the department.
  • Participates and maintains good standing in the Actuarial Development Program.
  • Assists with ad-hoc projects in the department or company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries, actively seeking FSA credential from the Society of Actuaries.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an actuarial role.
  • Computer software: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Word.
  • Business skills: Strong verbal communication, Excellent writing skills.
  • Desired:
  • Programming knowledge: R, VBA.
  • Actuarial modelling experience: Risk Agility, MoSes.
  • Insurance product knowledge: Health insurance products.
  • Business knowledge: Reinsurance basics, Stat/GAAP, Solvency II, IFRS17.
