RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be heavily involved in shaping the plan and executing deliverables for P&C pricing transformation. For example:
  • Defining a detailed vision of the future P&C rating algorithm.
  • Ensuring the transformation plan align to Commercial department strategies.
  • Identify key milestones for projects and accurately forecast time required for each milestone.
  • Provide support and recommendations in evaluating technical model validations, define business constraints for predictive modeling and measure model impacts.
  • Track benefits of the implemented changes that demonstrate the success of the implemented changes.
  • Provide management actuarial recommendations on various pricing initiatives, and proactively identify gaps and opportunities in existing proposals and future projects with suggested action items for remediation.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff members and motivate them to perform at their best level. Coach junior staff members to develop their technical and personal skills. Act as a role model for the company values and inspire others to follow them.
  • Strong focus on risk mitigation and building a risk-aware culture. Ensure adherence to the technical pricing standard and actuarial best practices. Be an advocate for risk management to the direct reports. Be responsible for strong documentation of processes, decisions and methodologies.
  • Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders at the head office and the field. Identify the needs of our partners and tailor solutions that serve their needs and maximize value for commercial insurance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6+ years of Insurance Property and Casualty actuarial pricing experience.
  • Successful completion of ACAS or higher.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead project discussions and meetings with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior predictive modeling experience with strong understanding of model interpretation, validation and implementation.
  • Excellent data analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills. Prior project leadership experience is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Strong organizational skills showing attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Must model and promote the company core values.
  • University degree in a related discipline.
