RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct research and apply sound actuarial judgement to support the development of pricing assumptions for biometric and non-biometric risks.
  • Work with actuaries and non-actuaries to research emerging trends from international insurance markets.
  • Develop expertise in non-biometric assumptions for traditional business, e.g. interest rates, assets collateral set-up.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary local and regional teams to develop new products and identify business opportunities from existing products.
  • Develop and maintain Asian pricing standards and guidelines.
  • Assess the impact of emerging topics on corporate guidelines and Asia business, e.g. economic capital shocks, IFRS etc., and make recommendations or solutions to processes, products or services.
  • Act as an ad-hoc resourcing support for local teams to develop products and pricing bases.
  • Synthesize and communicate difficult concepts to the wider Asia pricing team and Business Development community, and lead others to adopt best practices.
  • Provide training to the wider Asia pricing team.
  • Enhance the company's brand by presenting or sharing relevant research with clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Accreditation as a fellow in a globally recognized actuarial association.
  • 5-10 years full-time work experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
  • Solid understanding of various individual life insurance products.
  • Knowledge of Asian life insurance markets and product lines highly regarded.
  • Strong client service focus.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Advanced MS Office suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Highly motivated, results oriented and solutions focused.
  • Innovative, proactive and improvement oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Asian language skills desirable.
  • Ability to travel internationally for durations of 1-2 weeks, 3 - 4 times per year.
