RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designing actuarial models for unique, region-specific reinsurance structures.
  • Assisting with pricing model development for new quotes.
  • Developing surveys and analyzing results to be used in industry communications.
  • Assisting with review and sensitivity testing of ALM investment objectives.
  • Performing experience studies and developing actuarial assumptions for new quotes.
  • Analyzing and visualizing data to present insights to key stakeholders.
  • Understanding international regulations and developing global implementation tools.
  • Supporting risk analysis and the regular sensitivity testing of financial results.
  • Reviewing regional actuarial models for governance and process improvements.
  • Providing stewardship services globally related to company’s actuarial modelling and experience analysis software.
  • Take responsibility for client communications and stakeholder management.
  • Mentor junior staff on the team.
  • Effectively delegate work and keep project timelines on track.
  • Stay current regarding industry hot topics and regulatory changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recent Associate of the Society of Actuaries or progressing towards attainment of this designation.  Those nearing or having completed their FSA designations would be candidates for the Senior Actuarial Associate/Actuary level.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and successfully deliver on multiple assignments under tight timelines.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and database skills.
  • Experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Moody’s AXIS or IDS Insight Enterprise is an asset.
  • Ability to travel internationally is an asset.
