  • Designing actuarial models for unique, region-specific reinsurance structures.
  • Assisting with pricing model development for new quotes.
  • Developing surveys and analyzing results to be used in industry publications.
  • Assisting with review and sensitivity testing of ALM investment objectives.
  • Performing experience studies and developing actuarial assumptions for new quotes.
  • Analyzing and visualizing data to present insights to key stakeholders.
  • Understanding international regulations and developing global implementation tools.
  • Supporting risk analysis and the regular sensitivity testing of financial results.
  • Reviewing regional actuarial models for governance and process improvements.
  • Take ownership of several key global initiatives simultaneously with responsibility for client communications, execution of project scope and stakeholder management.
  • Manage and mentor actuarial students and professionals on the team, coordinating the activities of others in a performance oriented culture, and holding frequent development discussions with employees to identify opportunities for career growth.
  • Effectively delegate work and keep project timelines on track.
  • Stay current regarding industry hot topics and regulatory changes.
  • Present formally and informally to clients, management and occasionally company’s clientele.
  • University Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and/or Canadian Institute of Actuaries with 5-10+ years experience.
  • Leadership abilities, with experience fostering collaboration within teams and developing a positive work environment and attitude in direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and successfully deliver on multiple assignments under tight timelines.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and database skills.
  • Understanding of re/insurance concepts with knowledge of individual life and living benefits products and business is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Moody’s AXIS or IDS Insight Enterprise is an asset.
  • Ability to travel internationally is an asset.
