  • Identify actual client needs that the company is not presently serving.
  • Design solutions for those needs.
  • Implement transactions to maximize profits and control risk to company while meeting client objectives.
  • Jointly with manager, decide where to allocate GFS EMEA BD and Pricing resources.
  • Enhance the company’s brand externally by carrying out branding activities.
  • Contribute proactively and effectively to the development and execution of the sales and marketing strategy for Global Financial Solutions in EMEA.
  • As assigned, enthusiastically and effectively lead deal teams on time-critical opportunities, including members from EMEA Business Development, Pricing, Marketing & Transaction Services, Corporate Legal and others as relevant to each deal.
  • Develop effective working relationships with senior colleagues from GFS, Corporate, Legal, Investments and European Acquisitions and with all local offices in continental Europe and leverage these relationships to contribute to company’s overall growth and success.
  • Be an expert in Solvency II, IFRS insurance accounting and other financial measurement systems and share that expertise with others in the company via relevant working groups and project teams.
  • Anticipate and monitor industry regulatory changes which impact reinsurance transactions and communicate these changes within the company and to clients.
  • University degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering or related fields.
  • 15+ years of experience in life re/insurance, investment banking or consulting.
  • Deep knowledge of Solvency II regulations and the practical challenges they present for European life insurers.
  • Detailed knowledge of life insurers’ valuation and projection models for generating Solvency II balance sheet, SCR and reporting requirements, or
  • Recognition in the European insurance industry as an expert in reinsurance solutions under Solvency II.
  • Strong knowledge of products and financial reporting in the European life insurance sector.
  • Fluent in English and at least one of German, French, Spanish, Polish or Italian.
  • Strong knowledge of some or all of: IFRS, Basel 3. US GAAP, Market Consistent Embedded Value, Corporate Finance.
  • Expert persuasion and negotiation skills when working with senior executives and at potential clients.
  • Expert level of investigative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Expert ability to translate business needs and problems into viable and accepted solutions.
  • Expert oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received.
  • Expert ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines as well as different locations and from multiple cultural backgrounds.
