RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver timely and accurate actuarial input to assist underwriters with individual risk pricing. Tasks include: data manipulation and preparation; reconciliation of data between submissions; analysis and explanation of large or unusual claim movements.
  • Produce draft pricing results for discussion with actuaries/underwriters to including explanation of cost drivers and material movements.
  • Review and validate rate change calculations in accordance with company’s Technical Pricing Framework.
  • Develop a detailed technical understanding of existing pricing models in order to assist with future development and refinement. Contribute to the development and parameterization of new pricing models within company’s Technical Pricing Framework.
  • Assist in the production and validation of portfolio pricing statistic.
  • Collaborate and share knowledge with the wider pricing and actuarial team on pricing approaches and analyses.
  • Assistance with other pricing team activities as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Math/Computer Science/Physics or similar.
  • Minimum 3 CAS exams passed and making good progress towards ACAS/FCAS.
  • Minimum 24 months’ relevant work experience either as part of a university placement or otherwise.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills.
  • Strong IT skills particularly MS Excel, VBA and SQL experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools and programming desirable.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to use initiative and self-manage whilst being able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments within the organisation.
