RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of various databases and utilizing descriptive analytics to gain diversified insight into claims data issues and impacts.
  • Extracting data using business intelligence tools or programming languages and completing validations to ensure accuracy, completeness, interpretability and reconciliation of data.
  • Monitoring and identifying claims data trends including frequency, severity and loss costs and responding to common requests received from business partners and the team.
  • Maintaining dashboards and portfolio analytics tools, participating in testing and updating documentation of key claims analytics functions.
  • Conducting analysis to support claims reviews and compliance audits within established timeframes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have one year of experience in a statistical, actuarial, financial or related analytics role.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline.
  • You have basic knowledge of claims operations, business intelligence tools, statistical methods and insurance concepts, practices, products and metrics.
  • You have working knowledge of claims databases and programming languages.
  • You have an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.
  • You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view.
  • You build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.
