RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparation of standard pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan rules and legislative requirements.
  • Preparation of year-end annual pension statements.
  • Assist with other pension plan administration tasks.
  • Work with pension databases and company internal software/systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of actuarial valuations.
  • Receive and respond to routine plan inquiries and requests from clients.
  • Takes direction from, and supports, team members.
  • Attend internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends.
  • Assist with special projects, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in actuarial science or mathematics.
  • Successful completion of at least 2 SOA exams.
  • Combination of excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence.
  • Strong skill set with MS Word, Excel and programming.
  • Experience with Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution pension plans an asset, but not required.
