RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Developing appropriate solutions to complex problems requiring innovations.
  • Identifying and acting upon new ideas and solutions to enable delivering solutions in projects where we have complex pricing challenges.
  • Acting as a coach and resource to the team, and proactively sharing knowledge on technical and modeling topics.
  • Leading multiple large-scale projects by defining project plans, ensuring the team executes on deliverables and providing actuarial feedback on projects led by other departments.
  • Actively learning innovative techniques, programming languages and software and maintaining and updating standards of key actuarial functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have six years of experience in Property and Casualty (P&C) actuarial, modeling and programming or a related field.
  • You have completed a post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
  • You have advanced knowledge of actuarial concepts, including price segmentation techniques and reserves.
  • You have advanced knowledge of database management and manipulation, reconciliation, and expert skills with programming languages such as R, Python and Structured Query Language.
  • Having or working towards the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society designations is an asset.
  • You have an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.  
  • You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view. 
  • You build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.
