RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and strategic projects as determined by the needs of senior management.
  • Design and build data models, reports, visualizations and dashboards. Tackle business problems by converting raw data to meaningful and actionable business ideas.
  • Prepare presentation materials to be shared with senior leaders and the board.
  • Create, manage and automate operational reports to monitor the performance of the business.
  • Produce financial dashboards for department heads and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient process to capture department heads commentary of selected dashboards/reports for senior management review.
  • Assist in supporting TM1 / Planning Analytics for the Reinsurance Division.
  • Analyze P&L results for the Reinsurance Division as well as individual departments, as it relates to plan and prior year variances as well as implications for prospective periods.
  • Assist Business Leaders in developing their financial plans and documenting their key assumptions.
  • Collaborate within Finance / Reserving / ERM / Actuarial & Cat Modeling as well as other departments to support various analytical and reporting needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Accounting / Finance/Economics / Information Systems / Mathematics / Statistics or other related fields.
  • 7+ years of data analysis and financial reporting experience, preferably within the reinsurance / insurance industry.
  • Highly skilled in data manipulation and data/result visualization as well as Microsoft products.
  • Experience querying, developing, managing and reporting with relational databases.
  • Programming Experience with SQL, R, Python and other similar languages are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence people.
  • Advanced analytical skills, the ability to problem solve, Inquisitive.
  • Strong technical skills, stay current with available technology to enhance processes, ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Uses appropriate applications and identifies opportunities to better leverage technology to complete tasks more efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to create Charts/Graphs that aid in the visualization of data and results.
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and demands.
  • Able to proactively anticipate issues, provide recommendations, and communicate key issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop strong productive relationships with various functional areas within the Reinsurance Division.
