RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Project management and oversight of day-to-day client deliverables, inclusive of regular contact with clients and third parties.
  • Consulting, actuarial and analytical support on various insurance business lines and programs.
  • Coaching and supporting the development of junior actuarial resources as well as identification and implementation of process and efficiency improvements.
  • Coordination and review of pricing and loss reserving analysis and pro forma financial modeling, supported by actuarial analysts.
  • Supporting senior consulting staff on consulting mandates, including production of reports, presentations, summary analyses, client communications, etc.
  • Development of analysis and recommendations related to strategic bidding processes for partner relationships on behalf of our clients.
  • Client-facing support on both technical and strategic issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • FSA designation or significant progress towards fellowship through either the Casualty Actuarial Society or Society of Actuaries.
  • 5-7+ years of actuarial consulting experience, ideally with a focus on property & casualty.
  • Experience with standard actuarial pricing and/or reserving techniques.
  • Experience with actuarial programming in languages such as R.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Affinity a plus.
  • Strong research and investigation skills to identify problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong teams and maintain solid working relationships with colleagues, external clients and vendors.
  • Experienced people manager with a successful track record in talent development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual in English and French a definite plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Business or other related fields highly preferred.
