  • Responsible for operational delivery of catastrophe risk modeling and pricing results of treaty reinsurance for key APAC markets with focus on China, using vendor models and/or internally developed tools as per company process and guidelines.
  • Support modelling and monitoring of Cat portfolio and used capacities for key UW units.
  • Actively contribute to project work related to Nat Cat perils research and product development.
  • Support client service and Nat Cat research network initiative for China.
  • Contribute to wider team initiatives and special research projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a highly numerate structured discipline, such as actuarial science, engineering, computer science.
  • Be able to independently complete catastrophe modeling analyses and pricing treaty reinsurance.
  • Experience or at least understanding with Cat accumulation control.
  • Capable of conducting Cat peril research and model evaluation studies as required.
  • Using Cat models, hazard data and related information to develop new products, tools and pricing models.
  • Potential to build network of research partners and data suppliers.
  • Experience in using AIR and/or RMS modelling software is required.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical results to business stakeholders is a distinct advantage.
  • SQL, VBA, GIS, or R programming skills are useful.
  • A team player able to work in project mode.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in the reinsurance industry is preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in Mandarin Chinese is required.
