RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead team in conduct quarterly and interim analyses of Loss and Loss Adjustment Expense reserves in support of Statutory and GAAP financial statements.
  • Interpret, summarize, and present results to Senior Leadership and other members of management; highly visible role.
  • Maintain and mentor team relative to understanding of current actuarial techniques and practices, industry trends, and legal/regulatory environment.
  • Establish and enhance methodologies, procedures, and tools for reserving function.
  • Conduct performance and assumption testing of actuarial methods and models, and update projections as appropriate.
  • Provide support for the completion of Actuarial Reports, SAO, and AOS.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, or other related field.
  • ACAS/FCAS with 10+ years of multi-line P&C actuarial experience, including pricing and reserving.
  • Significant management experience and demonstrated competency in a leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of Statutory and GAAP financial statements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both in writing and orally.
  • Effectively present information to various audiences, including Senior Leadership.
  • Succeed in a performance oriented yet highly collaborative corporate culture.
  • Ability to collaborate with other areas, including Product, Pricing, Claims, and Finance, to ensure consistent understanding of operational environment and financial results.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and tasks, comprehend complex situations, and apply logical thinking and sound judgment to arrive at solutions to problems.
  • Ability to balance the need for consensus building with the need for decisive action, while leading in a dynamic environment.
