RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In addition to coaching and onboarding responsibilities of the new resources that will be added to the team, the responsibilities are mostly the same as an equivalent position in our Canadian entrepreneur data lab squads.
  • Collaborate efficiently and share all the necessary information with teams as well as project sponsors.
  • Represent the lab in Canada with all stakeholders of the various projects.
  • Support the lab from a technical and technological standpoint to ensure team efficiency.
  • Develop innovative solutions for trend recognition using machine learning and advanced statistics.
  • Transform complex databases into relevant conclusions and recommendations.
  • Keep pace with new approaches and trends and use them in your own solutions.
  • Help maintain our data mining tools and platforms.
  • Work with other departments to promote the adoption of analytical principles within the organization.
  • Validate the quality of the analytical approach and project outputs of the other team members.
  • Communicate the results and performance of the models to Management.
  • Make actionable recommendations based on the findings.
  • Work closely with our data lab’s management team to develop the onboarding programs and the best form of Agile to be deployed.
  • Help onboard our new local colleagues by sharing your expertise and training them.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum two years of experience within Data Science, IT Services or an actuarial team.
  • Post-secondary education in Machine Learning, Data Science or degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Ability to focus on vaguely defined issues requiring the application of a creative approach.
  • Good knowledge of open-source frameworks: R, Python, Spark, Scala, TensorFlow or equivalent.
  • Strong influencing, team spirit, networking and leadership skills.
