  • Provide Catastrophe modelling support for the P&C Broking team. Planning and executing exposure data manipulation and production of modelled loss estimates of our client’s exposure to Natural Catastrophes.
  • Assist in the production of analytical exhibits using programming languages such as Python, SQL and R.
  • Identify and present areas where improvements may be made enabling tasks to be completed in a more efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively, to peers and team managers across the group, the impact of all work undertaken, particularly in identifying model or data issues and suggest appropriate remedial actions.
  • Develop knowledge of all catastrophe modelling systems & processes; develop your business, market knowledge and awareness of relevant issues which impact a particular area of practice.
  • Maintain awareness of, and comply on an ongoing basis, with the requirements of relevant professional/legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks.
  • Strong educational background, having been educated to degree level in a relevant field, which could include Maths, Science and Geography.
  • Strong problem solving, organisation and numerical skills
  • Strong communicator with an ability to build relationships with stakeholders and present information.
  • Ideally exposure to at least one of the major Catastrophe modelling systems from RMS, AIR or CoreLogic, although not essential.
  • Ideally exposure to working with Python, SQL or R, although not essential.
  • Ideally exposure to Solvency II, although not essential.
  • General understanding of Insurance principles and concepts.
