  • Manages a team of 2-6 actuaries; mentors and guides them in achieving everyday tasks and responsibilities.
  • Utilizes independent judgment and discretion, performs financial projections and actuarial analysis for complex assignments.
  • Works closely with management and other internal departments like Sales and Finance, to prepare financial forecasts to achieve profitability and growth goals.
  • Trend Analysis, formulary modeling, analysis of regulatory changes, bid pricing support, and development of the Medicare Part D bid process.
  • BS in Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of actuarial work and progressive experience with 3 years as a senior analyst or team lead delegating others work preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years working with Medicare Advantage products and Part D; including: Bid preparation and desk review,CMS compliance, CMS audit requirements.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage pricing for Part D and Part C and understand how to achieve the balance point between growth and profitability.
  • Proven capabilities in modeling trend analysis, forecasting, and predictive analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal communications and presentation skills including written/verbal proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of SAS and SQL preferred.
  • Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting experience.
  • Able to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute strategies designed to price new products.
  • Proficient with computer programs: Intermediate MS Office Skills, including Access.
  • Ability to manage people and projects.
