RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage client teams and insurers expectations and raise appropriate issues to senior colleagues.
  • Deliver superior, consistent project management and deliverables in support of colleagues
  • Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams.
  • Serve as primary, daily contact to client teams and insurers with respect to the post-purchase implementation phase including membership readiness.
  • Contribute to positioning the company as a leader in this market by maintaining strong relationship with insurers and ensuring successful post-purchase implementation in relation to established objectives, timelines and quality standards.
  • Coordination with Plan Termination Group, Benefit Advisory and Compliance and other subject matter experts as it relates to plan windups, annuity discharge and other topics.
  • Efficient monitoring of activities and goals through database.
  • Perform technical/consulting review of work products.
  • Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches.
  • Contribute to the growth of the business as part of the broader team.
  • Assist with new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships.
  • Assist in various marketing initiatives.
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Serve as a mentor to project team colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or any other related university training.
  • At least 6 to 12 years’ experience in retirement consulting, preferably within a consulting firm, as well as experience in Canadian retirement plans.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Client relationship and interpersonal skills, as well as team player.
  • Executive presence with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity.
  • Problem solver; able to identify and solve challenging problems.
  • Strong analytical skills and creativity.
  • Track record of mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Ability to see the big picture, leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients’ business challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Ability to be flexible with workload as projects may sometimes require urgent attention.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and proficient in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual.
