RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the accounting work stream for IFRS 17 and support both the Finance Project Management Office and Finance Regulatory Reporting team in the IFRS 17 project deliverables.
  • Analyze and specify IFRS 17 user requirements for system implementation by participating in methodology specification workshops and seek direction/approval from CFO for decisions on accounting positions.
  • Work Partner with Finance Regulatory Reporting team and external consultants to define the accounting requirements for IFRS 17 implementation by collaborating with PMO, Actuarial and IT cross functional teams within the organization.
  • Design the IFRS chart of accounts, IFRS 17 sub ledger as well as defining the accounting posting rules to be set up in system.
  • Assist in the design and set up financial closing process.
  • Agree with stakeholder’s buy-in on transition approach and the accounting adjustments.
  • Assist in drafting the IFRS 17 compliant financial disclosures and accounting policies to be included in the financial statements.
  • Lead and participate in the user acceptance testing before system roll out to perform validations and checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting postings.
  • Adhere Manage resources and adhere to the project deliverables and timelines.
  • Any other projects or tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Accountancy or a relevant discipline.
  • 10 years’ working experience in the Insurance or Reinsurance industry preferred.
  • Minimal 2 years’ experience in a business consulting role, preferably in the implementation of IFRS 17.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in insurance financial accounting and reporting.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders from various business lines.
