RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Co-ordinates to develop and implement other Risk Management and stress testing programs.
  • Co-ordinates and leads Actuarial involvement and input into the Company adoption of IFRS 17.
  • Provide assistance in the production of regulator mandated actuarial reports such as the Appointed Actuary’s Report and Dynamic Capital Adequacy Testing.
  • Provide assistance in other large scale projects related to reserve valuation, capital modeling and other corporate actuarial topics, such as Own Risk Solvency Assessment.
  • Develop and implement stress testing procedures for both actuarial and company-wide projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and act as actuarial representative while liaising with other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science/Statistics/Math.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in P&C insurance actuarial services.
  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society preferred.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing internal actuarial personnel preferred.
  • Good knowledge with Microsoft Office, as well as Reserving and Capital modeling tools.
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of new regulatory developments affecting P&C insurance business.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills. Demonstrates tact in dealing with others, encourages and supports teamwork and cohesion within and between teams.
  • In depth knowledge of IFRS 17 accounting standard, with an ability to communicate its key details to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to contribute to determining the company’s strategic focus and business strategies.
  • Is results-driven and action-oriented.
  • Has in-depth business, industry, and technical knowledge, including best practices and standard practices.
  • Ability to lead change and work in a fast paced environment.
