RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contributing to various research projects, including developing and testing innovative approaches for modeling insurance risk and delivering predictive analytics solutions to support business partners.
  • Developing, maintaining and improving predictive statistical models, including measuring and documenting performance and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Working with various databases, programming languages and modeling software to interpret and analyze data and contribute to strategic objectives.
  • Enhancing existing business practices and procedures in alignment with emerging trends and best practices in the insurance industry and Actuarial landscape.
  • Coaching, training and providing timely feedback and support to team members in order to achieve department objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have four years of experience in statistics, actuarial or data science.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
  • You are proficient with statistical programming languages and have experience working with large data volumes.
  • Having experience in the Property & Casualty Actuarial field is an asset.
  • You have an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.  
  • You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view. 
  • You build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.
