RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Developing processes and suggesting improvements for the economic capital model.
  • Managing model change initiatives.
  • Improving model governance through automation and simplification of processes.
  • Leading or contributing to the development of analytical tools and techniques to support and enable capital modelling and forecasting for a range of regulatory and business purposes.
  • Helping to build a closer working relationship with other capital modelling teams around the Group.
  • Conducting quarterly capital analyses to ensure solvency, continued regulatory capital compliance and/or optimize the capital position for business purposes.
  • Producing timely and accurate outputs for internal customers, regulatory authorities, rating agencies, and other external bodies as required.
  • Contributing to the company’s economic capital capability including its regulatory reporting of economic capital.
  • Contributing to the production of Company's annual ORSA Report and Capital Report.
  • Contributing to the production of Company’s annual DCAT submission to OSFI.
  • Engaging with finance and the business to improve process involving stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with 4-5+ years' experience of working in a capital modelling or pricing/reserving function.
  • 1 year experience leading projects in a matrix environment.
  • People leadership experience is an asset.
  • Proven success with modelling, analysis, and interpretation of complex financial information in a commercial context.
  • Strong background and knowledge of both Solvency II requirements and Canadian statutory requirements
  • Stochastic modelling experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Responsive and client-focused.
