  • Meeting with company officials, lawyers and industry in general to obtain information regarding the licensing of all insurance entities, agents, brokers and salespersons, and/or to discuss specific details of any regulatory requests made in accordance with provisions of current Insurance legislation and associated regulations.
  • Undertaking the supervision of all licenced insurers and insurance intermediaries, including issues affecting the public to ensure that appropriate decision and answers are provided in mutual interest to the Company, Government, the Public and other affected stakeholders.
  • Developing annual budgets for the management of the Department ensuring controls are in place to monitor department operations and providing accountability for funds.
  • Providing senior managerial direction, leadership and supervision to the assigned team in addition to offering routine mentoring and feedback while identifying training needs.
  • A Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification in an Insurance, Finance or Accounting discipline from a recognised institution or professional body.
  • A minimum of ten years’ relevant post graduate experience of which at least five should be at a senior level in the financial services business, and/or working experience with a financial regulatory body.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Insurance Act 1978 and related regulations.
  • An understanding of Solvency II as it relates to Company’s goal of regulatory equivalence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to analyse financial statements.
  • Excellent management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
