RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct studies and data analysis for annual rate renewal reports, fund balance projections, legislative impact studies, IBNR calculations and feasibility studies.
  • Conducts detailed claim cost and utilization trend studies.
  • Assists in vendor evaluation and selection for clients.
  • Assists health care practice in responding to Requests for Proposals.
  • Interacts with clients.
  • Provides other non-recurring assistance as directed by Team Leader.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
  • Successful completion of at least three actuarial exams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Candidate should be able to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Three or more years of hands-on actuarial/underwriting experience with public or private employer benefit plans.
  • Experience or proven computer programming skills: SQL or Visual Basic.
  • Successful completion of three or more actuarial exams.
