RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work as part of a quantitative group developing critical Internet Linux-based applications. Familiarity with Python is very important.
  • Responsible for system development and application architecture.
  • Develop web-based applications - projects include Oracle data access using SQL or Python Object Relational Mappers.
  • Work with other developers/quants and project leads to ensure software and analytical design meets standards.
  • Responsible for analyzing technical requirements and pursuing technology solutions to improve performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Understand Company data management process and participate in the automation of data acquisition for the quantitative applications developed at the company.
  • Develop and test analytical tools that support Credit Rating Methodology.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Work toward additional educational certifications encouraged.
  • Working knowledge and good understanding of at least one Object Oriented language.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in web development.
  • Working experience in simulation modeling.
  • Working knowledge of Python and Django/Flask/Pyramid, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically EXCEL-high knowledge level.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently.
  • Business writing.
  • Flexibility to switch between tasks as needed and multitasking.
  • Time management is essential.
  • Insurance experience is a plus.
  • Quantitative Financial experience is a plus.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Prior experience in Linux environments desired
  • Working knowledge of Python and Django/Flask/Pyramid, etc.
  • Knowledge of open source analytical Python libraries including ability to explore new ones depending on business needs.
  • Ability to collaborate and participate in cross-functional teams.
  • An increased level of inquisitiveness.
