RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing strategic guidance and leadership to a team of analysts who will use data to investigate trends, identify causes and outline opportunities related to all Property & Casualty portfolios.
  • Leading, supporting and managing change including inspiring and supporting others to maintain enthusiasm and commitment to the change process.
  • Creating partnerships and educating on the importance of and approach to embedding analytics into decision-making and providing tools and strategies to outline the added value and build an analytics mindset into their teams.
  • Supporting the development of analytics strategy, methodology and discipline including the reinforcement of data quality standards, measurement criteria and ensuring compliance to data quality practices.
  • Coaching and developing your team, recruiting and selecting talent, managing and rewarding performance, and fostering an agile culture to deliver on strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have 7-10 years of experience in an analytical role in finance, actuarial, business intelligence or a related field.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in business, finance, actuarial, mathematics or a related discipline.
  • You hold the Chartered Insurance Professional designation; and holding an Actuarial or Financial professional designation would be an asset.
  • You have established strong management skills and knowledge required for analysis, coaching, planning and service development.
  • You have expert knowledge of portfolio management and the science of statistics, and working knowledge of financial concepts, BI functions and product and underwriting data including metrics, attributes, how data is captured and the impacts of process or system changes.
  • You build trusting relationships and provide feedback to enable the successful development of your team and colleagues.
  • You foster innovation and continuous improvement with a focus on client experience.
  • You facilitate the adoption of change and create a high-performance culture through alignment of your team’s work with organizational goals.
  • You successfully convey messages and demonstrate openness to exploring alternative points of view.
  • You use critical thinking to guide decision making and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business plans based on shifting priorities.
