  • Manage the Analytics team in their day-to-day activities by coordinating workload and assigning projects.
  • Work directly with Company management to introduce advanced analytics to all functions within the organization.
  • Develop and advance analytic standards and processes that enable all aspects of analysis to be consistently performed and documented.
  • Ensure the work of the Analytics team is regularly communicated and socialized to relevant functions throughout the organization.
  • Identify and, where necessary, organize learning and development opportunities for all Analytics team members.
  • Contribute to, and help define, educational initiatives aimed at the development of overall inter- and intra-departmental knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities and implement data management improvements.
  • Keep up to date on current statistical and mathematical models and methodologies, including those relating to machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Oversee and coach a team to ensure work environment is respectful, challenging, and rewarding and employees are maximized to their full potential while contributing to the achievement of the company's goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Completion of post-secondary degree/certificate preferably in the area of computer science, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science/mathematics, engineering, physics, or other related field.
  • Five years’ practical experience performing analysis or developing analytical processes using current programming languages and/or statistical software.
  • Two years’ experience performing data exploration, data management, and other data related activities.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to recognize, and identify issues and take proper action to resolve them.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with style fitting for the audience and message.
  • Advanced planning and organizing skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload and multiple projects.
  • Excellent leadership and motivating skills, with the ability to facilitate high team morale by encouraging and coaching team members and providing direction for them to achieve goals through clear instruction.
  • Ability to make excellent and well justified decisions in complex and high pressure situations and coach others others to do the same.
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is considered an asset.
