RESPONSIBILITIES
  • On a day to day basis, analyzing, modeling and pricing new business opportunities and existing book in accordance with group and local guidelines.
  • Developing tailor made reinsurance solutions to meet the needs of current and potential client.
  • Developing pricing models and assumptions for various lines of business in various geographical locations.
  • Negotiating with internal and external clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Treaty related duties.
  • Documenting pricing analysis.
  • Performing technical and peer reviews of pricing and treaty wording.
  • Monitoring performance of existing treaties.
  • Promoting Company’s expertise in financial solutions by participating in/leading internal events to educate on risk.
  • Researching new markets and lines of business in order to diversify exposure.
  • Building and enhancing relationships with brokers, clients and other entities of the company.
  • Supporting the business planning and forecasting process.
  • Supporting actuarial experience studies.
  • Contributing to the development of new tools and approaches.
  • Serving as mentor to marketing actuaries.
  • Taking a lead role on specific projects as needed.
  • Regular communication and reporting to management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or other life actuarial qualifications from a recognized professional body.
  • Minimum of 10 years of actuarial experience in pricing for life and health re/insurance.
  • Technical experience in the specialist fields of financial reinsurance and/or mortality, morbidity, health and critical illness.
  • Geographical experience in our target markets of UK, Europe and Asia Pacific.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong sales and marketing abilities.
  • Demonstrated success to support new business acquisition.
  • Creative mindset to develop new solutions depending on different regulations.
  • Assured approach to dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Technically proficient in MS Excel, Visual basic, Database management tools and working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to produce quality deliverables on time with tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, hardworking, willing to put in extra hours to meet deadlines.
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
