RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyzing insurance performance historical data to understand the reasons for past performance and make recommendations that will influence the business growth and/or address portfolio / business concerns
  • Conducts regular, ongoing reviews on the portfolio, as well as portfolio analysis to assess quality of business being written
  • Recommends changes or adherence to prudent underwriting guidelines and practices
  • Responds to business needs by identifying appropriate information to analyze utilizing a variety of sources in data mining
  • Identify, understand, and communicate profitability drivers while collaborating with Corporate Underwriting, claims and accounting areas
  • Identifying opportunities and responding to changes to ensure adherence to the corporate business success strategy
  • Communicating and consulting proposed changes in underwriting rules, guidelines, practices and gaps based on findings
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required completion of university education, preferably with economic, finance or actuarial
  • 3-5 years-experience in P&C Insurance Industry
  • Must have advanced knowledge and skills using SQL, Microsoft Excel, Access & PowerPoint (Professional programmer background or DBA background are desired)
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation & decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience and knowledge of financial and claim analysis are desired
