RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advancing IFRS 17 activities in an actuarial capacity.
  • Providing support to all areas across the region by:
  • Engaging the local businesses and other Corporate Actuarial hubs to implement the global reserving strategy.
  • Performing full actuarial valuation of claims and premium reserves of several Business Units within the region, covering multiple lines of business within the company.
  • Analyzing and discussing underwriting performance with the local businesses.
  • Projecting expected technical profitability as input into planning procedures.
  • Contributing to the development of the actuarial technical data warehouse.
  • Getting involved with other group system developments and other actuarial projects.
  • Project management, process design, and data management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Degree in Math, Statistics, or Actuarial Science, coupled with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Advanced skill with using MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Proficiency with SQL, ResQ, R and relational databases.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to apply regular interpretive thinking to outcomes.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work in a global, matrixed organization.
