RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as thought leader and drive strategy regarding external developments, such as changes in capital requirements, actuarial standards, regulations etc., that affect our capital position.
  • Provide advice to the Asia Segment GM, CFO and Senior Leadership team as well as to the Global Chief Actuary on reserving, capital and financial matters.
  • Represent the Company on industry committees and task forces to ensure the company view is effectively represented.
  • Participate in the annual planning process and review plan submissions from business units in the Segment.
  • Collaborate with Group to implement IFRS-17.
  • Drive the setup of the Shared Service Centre for the actuarial function in Asia.
  • Manage capital to ensure action is taken to maintain a robust capital position at all times and that our capital position is optimized.
  • Support initiatives related to the company’s Portfolio Optimization initiative to optimize the value of inforce business.
  • Drive efficiencies in the Actuarial function both at the Segment level and support Global initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and all relevant actuarial standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure production of reserves, Inforce Embedded Value, New Business Value and capital has sufficient controls to ensure the accuracy of the results.
  • Responsible for accuracy & appropriateness of all external actuarial disclosures.
  • Ensure actuarial processes meet professional, regulatory, internal standards and are adequately controlled.
  • Contribute to actuarial reserving processes including monitoring and review of actuarial methods and assumptions, experience studies, actuarial policies and ensure that methodologies are consistent with internal and regulatory standards and guidelines.

  • Strong relationship-building skills to build effective working relationships with Segment and Group leaders.
