RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluate, suggest and implement procedures for treatment of perils/exposures currently not modeled at the company for overall global accumulation control and potential, usage in internal Risk Capital model and Actuarial Pricing. Ability to define scope, agree on timeframes and execute deliverables with internal and external clients with minimal additional guidance.
  • Assess, validate and run Catastrophe loss modeling software and prepare data extracts, analyses, reports and documentation with minimal guidance. For relevant analyses as well as project related tasks: Ability to define scope, agree on timeframes and execute deliverables with internal and external clients with minimal additional guidance. Ability to lead / mentor others in global loss modeling activities and related analyses including use of in-depth knowledge of model methodology and function to explain, validate modeled loss output.
  • Collaboration with Chief Underwriting Office Lines of Business and other relevant functions to support business steering and portfolio management, Solvency II requirements, Reinsurance renewals and Data Quality improvements with minimal guidance.
  • Provide on the spot consultancy and translate or explain CAT Modeling results and reports to users in relevant departments; Communication and explanation of portfolio impact e.g. from model changes to internal clients. Training & education across the company, as well as clients with minimal guidance.
  • Drive innovation and change through managing the evaluation process relating to modeling upgrades, GIS applications and other vendor catastrophe loss modeling software with minimal additional guidance. All upgrade and change activities include technical and portfolio impact analyses and complete documentations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of professional insurance and/or reinsurance experience.
  • Understanding of underwriting practice for industrial risks and corporate business on a global basis.
  • Practical experience and familiarity with multiple vendor cat modeling tools.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Bachelor or Master degree preferably in Geosciences, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Advanced knowledge of Catastrophe Modeling Software.
  • Advanced knowledge of GIS applications.
  • Advanced programming Skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Risk Modeling is a plus.
  • Professional communication, technical depth and ability to communicate with required levels / functions internally and externally in a global environment.
  • Ability to deliver results, develop talent and performance and drive innovation and change.
  • Lead oneself and others in-line with agreed organizational strategic orientation.
