  • Educating and promoting the ERM vision and culture, maintaining ERM policies, standards and procedures and recommending strategic ERM plans in alignment with business objectives.
  • Coordinating organizational risk assessments and the identification of top risk issues, developing risk profiles and defined risk limits, monitoring trends and creating required reports, including the annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment, to present to boards and management for review.
  • Managing the Operational Risk Management program including the integration of ERM into business and capital planning functions and the implementation of internal controls to mitigate risks.
  • Facilitating stress test scenarios, developing ORSA capital and capital allocation methodologies, coordinating risk and capital modeling processes, including economic capital, implementing risk-adjusted return measures and managing the development of defined risk limits and the required risk appetite statements.
  • Inspiring and motivating your leadership team to define and execute strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing leadership talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, diverse, and agile culture.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management; additional experience in audit, underwriting, product pricing or business analysis is an asset.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in business or a related discipline.
  • You have an advanced financial designation and holding an actuarial designation is an asset.
  • You have thorough knowledge of the financial services industry, risk management methodologies and techniques, ERM, business continuity and control frameworks.
  • You have experience managing a complex and dynamic environment and presenting and educating on intricate tools, techniques and issues during times of significant transition and change.
  • You cultivate a client centric culture, drive organizational change and champion innovative thinking.   
  • You foster sustainable relationships with stakeholders to identify strategies, explore broader solutions and collaboratively resolve contentious issues. 
  • You build trust with employees and business partners and inspire your team through compelling communication. 
  • Your role models the values, encourage the development of your leaders and build high performing teams to meet the evolving needs of the organization. 
  • You are integral in identifying and implementing the long-term vision for the organization and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business priorities based on emerging trends.
