  • Lead and manage the P&C reserving team in multiple locations for multiple legal entities. This includes 8 actuaries supporting commutations, solutions, portfolio management and other transactions for In-force Management.
  • Be an active member of the P&C Business Management Executive Team, contributing to the overall strategic delivery of PCBM.
  • Create the environment for strong global collaboration across the reserving teams and ensuring strong interactions with the other Business Management Teams.
  • Interact with Products, Client Markets and others to: provide support for transactions and solutions, provide feedback on historical results that result in improvements in pricing and steering and provide support for Clients as necessary.
  • Oversee the quarterly reserve analysis assuring that appropriate reserve methodologies are used and that results are accurate and on-time.
  • Prepare quarterly reserves summaries and best-estimate recommendations for the Regional Reserve Committees. Agenda material should be clearly presented and highlight areas requiring the special consideration of the Committee members.
  • Provide insightful feedback from historical results through the costing/reserve feedback loop, portfolio management and underwriting factbook support.
  • Meet with external auditors in their review of the Reinsurance reserves.
  • Ensure that relevant regulatory requirements are met; in particular, that the various appointed actuaries are preparing the required actuarial reports and opinions. Keep abreast of regulatory developments.
  • Proactively leverage of the teams' reserving and actuarial knowledge to support enhanced thought leadership to our clients and the wider industry.
  • Actively work on relevant reserving related projects including Atlas/IETV, IFRS, and PERLS replacement.
  • Develop a strong and diverse team of people for P&C and the company, creating strong capabilities and a pipeline of future talents to the organization.
  • Extensive re/insurance industry knowledge and experience with significant years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of finance to apply within role.
  • Qualified Actuary.
  • Proven track record of building productive and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders on senior management level.
