  • Extracts and prepares property insurance policy data for catastrophe risk analysis.
  • Participates in catastrophe modeling to determine exposure to risk.
  • Prepare and present independent insight and commentary on modeling summary narratives and other deliverables.
  • Validates that modeled results are appropriate for our business, understands and communicates nuances behind model results.
  • Conduct the planning, organization, and execution of various types of risk assessments across the organization.
  • Develop exposure aggregation or limit profile reports to monitor risk accumulations for property and other lines of business.
  • Conduct frequent portfolio reviews for internal consumption.
  • Assist with the preparation of external reporting to rating and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with preparation of data extracts and final exhibits for reinsurance submissions.
  • Establish strong working relationships with key leaders and business partners, including members of Senior Management, Personal and Commercial Product, and Enterprise Catastrophe Risk Management.
  • Under minimal supervision, performs moderately complex to complex work assignments and problem resolution.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar field, or 2+ years relevant work experience.
  • Practical experience with data analysis, clean up, and validation in a work or academic setting.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance coverage's, particularly property.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical details in basic terms.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Familiarity with SQL a plus, not required.
  • Prior experience using catastrophe models a plus, not required.
  • Intention to pursue CAS designation.
  • 2+ CAS Exams a plus, not required.
