RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Managing, auditing, processing, analyzing and second checking the cleansing of clients’ insurance portfolio data.
  • Identify and develop efficiencies in auditing, processing and analyzing data.
  • Inherent knowledge of specialism and actively run training sessions.
  • Manage the delivery of projects.
  • Preparation and formatting of data for modelling
  • Operational understanding of catastrophe models.
  • Inherent knowledge of catastrophe model mechanics.
  • Presentation & explanation of catastrophe model results.
  • Develop professional working relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Work with the existing team members on day to day basis.
  • Recommend operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results.
  • Influences business decisions made by leadership.
  • Strengthen communication with executive leadership on matters of strategic importance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 3 years in catastrophe modelling experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a numerate subject e.g. mathematics, meteorology, engineering, physics, geophysics, geography, IT or/ and Actuary.
  • A keen interest in natural catastrophes.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to forge good relationships.
  • Desire to take early responsibility.
  • High degree of self-discipline and commitment.
  • Proven experience at handling large datasets through use of computer code, an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GIS software e.g. ArcGIS and/or catastrophe modelling software will be a plus.
  • Eager to learn and develop.
