RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate and work on the pricing of reinsurance quotes for new business.
  • Work on modeling of the quotes in Axis.
  • Analyze client product information and supporting quote data to establish suitable actuarial assumptions for each quote.
  • Review the resulting product’s profitability and develop the reinsurance recommendation in collaboration with business development to be presented to Company’s management.
  • Actively participate in the actuarial peer review of pricing assumptions.
  • Prepare specification summaries for new treaties.
  • Take part in the quoting process for Canadian in-force opportunities while collaborating with the Global Financial Solutions team on pricing and modeling these transactions.
  • Participate in key client initiatives in collaboration with the Research area and the Director of New Products.
  • Provide technical support and expertise on product and reinsurance matters to external and internal clients, including corporate actuarial, research, and product development.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or in mathematics.
  • 3-5 years of work-related experience.
  • ASA/AICA designation and actively writing actuarial exams towards FSA/FCIA designation.
  • Strong computer skills: Excel, VBA, SQL, Word, Access, Outlook.
  • Other specific software: AXIS proficiency is an important asset.
  • Bilingual French and English communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail orientation, with ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts.
  • Great proficiency with computer software and ability to resolve problems.
  • Results orientation and ability to focus on meeting deadlines.
