RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Overall, pricing business opportunities across APAC ex India, ability to do the work and own the process from start to finish.
  • For most parts, working independently, with the macro view guidance and tech review from the Head of the team.
  • Pricing Analysis includes, but not limited to:
  • Utilize existing pricing models and framework - data cleaning, set pricing assumptions, IBNR/DLR/Reserving calculations, rescaling, reconciliation, trend analysis, setting margins, stress testing etc.
  • Enhance existing pricing models, where needed and required using Excel, macros and other statistical tools available to you.
  • Benchmarking techniques to complement traditional pricing.
  • Perform experience investigations via A/E techniques.
  • Form pricing opinions, balancing both risk vs. reward.
  • Understand the recurring nature of the process, akin to the Actuarial Control Cycle.
  • Working naturally in partnership with our teams to ensure client deliverables are met:
  • Timeline management on various committee approvals.
  • Pre-approval work to help Paris understand both the pricing and business case of every opportunity.
  • Reinsurance contracts negotiations and signings.
  • Resolve accounts issues/queries.
  • Manage claims / underwriting referrals.
  • Handle collateral / LOC queries.
  • Liaising with clients and/or reinsurance brokers to resolve data or pricing queries and understand client objectives.
  • Presentations - to clients and key senior stakeholders.
  • Attend market conferences in Asia Pacific.
  • Business Travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Min. 5 years’ pricing experience in the Australia & NZ Life insurance market,
  • Min. 5 years’ in group insurance market, with emphasis on product, design and/or pricing.
  • Fluent in English and preferably, an Asian language.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Actuarial, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Highly proficient in statistical packages.
  • Proficient in presentations, mainly PowerPoint.
