RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Integral part of International Re Actuarial, working actively within a cross-functional team, particularly with regional underwriters and product underwriters.
  • Providing pricing support directly to the underwriting team through individual treaty pricing.
  • Taking part in pricing-related activities such as: underwriting committees, analytical/MI support for management and underwriters, portfolio monitoring, market studies, develop/enhance/maintain proprietary models, and validating assumptions used.
  • Providing input into the quarterly reserving process and annual capital model parameterization where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computing Science or related discipline from a recognized university. Making good progress with actuarial qualification.
  • 2-4 years’ Actuarial work experience. Good knowledge of insurance/reinsurance and actuarial concepts. Experience in Pricing / Casualty is desirable.
  • Proven ability in identifying and analyzing problems, creating good solutions, deploying sound decision making skills.
  • Proven track record of knowing what it takes to provide a consistently first class customer service internally and/or externally.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships, establishing credibility amongst a wide and demanding client group.
  • Demonstrable evidence of interpreting & manipulating data clearly and accurately with the ability to extract & clearly articulate key points.
  • First class report writing skills, ability to develop and present ideas and reasoned arguments clearly and concisely to various audiences.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, a confident and articulate presenter to internal/external audiences, exercising appropriate discretion in dealing with people from all levels of the Company.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data entry or data outputs.
  • Able to organize including effective scheduling, prioritization and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines. Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude. Handling multiple account pricings and/or projects; work effectively under pressure.
  • Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action whilst working effectively within a team.
  • Displays a resilient and adaptable style, track record of remaining calm in demanding circumstances, adjusting comfortably to changing conditions / priorities.
  • The role would suit highly driven self-starters, with a strong desire to challenge and deliver.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent in oral and written English. Another regional language is a plus.
  • Able to travel within the region from time to time.
