  • Interact with various business units and actuarial functions within the company including; Reinsurance Solutions, Corporate Actuarial, Applied Research & Development, Enterprise Risk Management, Inforce Management, Innovation, Reinsurance Operations and Human Resources.
  • Successfully manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on project objectives, often times while working on multiple assignments at once; this includes communicating effectively with clients, presenting formally and informally at times, and adapting to ambiguous or changing situations.
  • Provide guidance to Associate level team members, interns and co-op students; which includes delegating to and reviewing their work to ensure project deliverables are met accurately and efficiently.
  • Designing actuarial models for unique reinsurance structures.
  • Developing efficient and flexible financial projection models in GGY AXIS.
  • Performing statutory reserve, capital and GAAP calculations.
  • Supporting risk analysis and the regular sensitivity testing of financial results.
  • Preparing marketing materials and industry publications.
  • Implementing new initiatives, internal reviews and audits.
  • University Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or progressing towards attainment of this designation, with 4-7+ years’ experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in general conversation, written responses to internal and external clients and in formal presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and successfully deliver on multiple assignments under tight timelines.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with clients and co-workers.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and database skills, including experience with programming of macros to automate tasks.
  • Knowledge of GGY AXIS or IDS Insight Enterprise is an asset.
  • Ability to travel internationally is an asset.
