RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Defining and innovating with respect to the eligibility and underwriting requirements to optimize the balance between market penetration and risk/profitability; and finding ways to use new data sources and integrated analytics to achieve these goals.
  • Working with cross-functional product, underwriting, business development, marketing, integrated / predictive analytics, pricing, technology, valuation, regulatory/legal experts to facilitate two-way knowledge sharing.
  • Pricing New Individual and Group Life and Health innovative products including assumption setting, cash flow, reserve and capital projections, assessing profitability from both a direct and a reinsurance perspective and securing approval. Integrating predictive analytics and technological capabilities to product underwriting and pricing. Demonstrating familiarity and understanding of the company, industry and regulatory pricing processes, standards, requirements, metrics and tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • FSA/FCIA, or near FSA/FCIA.
  • Practical experience in product development and pricing role for Individual and/or Group Life and Health products.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop product pricing.
  • Good knowledge of digital / simplified issue insurance market, products and distribution, including implications of differing underwriting requirements.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements in relation to product development & pricing.
  • Creative, energetic, driven, nimble, collaborative, desire to innovate & try new approaches and goal oriented style.
  • Keen strategic thinking, business acumen and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
