  • Perform a quarterly reserving process.
  • Align local reserving processes with the company-wide processes.
  • Support Group financial reporting through quarterly reporting to Central Reserving using standard tools.
  • Actively communicate with claims.
  • Maintain large loss database and analysis.
  • Work closely with finance on quarterly results, analysis and reporting.
  • Communicate with management and underwriting.
  • Annual planning and quarterly forecasting with Finance.
  • Support the Appointed Actuary role and responsibilities.
  • Assist in Risk Management with retro process and capital modelling.
  • Actively participate in the local and Global IFRS17 Project.
  • Quarterly reserving analysis for the company, Canadian Branch.
  • Manage reserving staff including performance management, training and mentoring.
  • Ensure good collaboration as well as timely and quality actuarial support.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders within Finance, Claims, Risk Management, Underwriting and Pricing.
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Sciences or other related fields.
  • Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • 10 to 15+ years of P&C actuarial work experience; experience with reserving and financial forecasting preferred.
  • Leadership qualities and abilities, with experience in developing a positive team environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to achieve results under tight deadlines.
  • Proven business acumen and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; with the ability to analyze current processes and procedures while recommending and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Sound analytical and integrative skills.
