  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging reinsurance related regulations/developments/trends for assigned area/s of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the development, analysis and design of annuity reinsurance solutions.
  • Provides detailed analysis and recommendations on appropriate reinsurance actions to protect the risk and profitability of the annuity organization.
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve potential risks related to reinsurance and escalate when appropriate.
  • Assist in the negotiations and completion of the terms and conditions of the transaction with counter-parties/reinsurers.
  • Collaborate with the company's legal team to prepare and review all required agreements and documentation, maintaining a strong working knowledge of each document and its impact on ongoing responsibilities.
  • Facilitate the process to obtain approval from regulators and outside auditors for all new reinsurance transactions.
  • Manage the counter-party risks related to reinsurance transactions and advise on entering into new transactions or maintaining existing transactions.
  • Maintain communication with the counter-parties and reinsurers to ensure all parties maintain compliance with the contractual agreements and addresses any issues.
  • Act as a liaison between the department and other key business units to obtain necessary information and improve processes.
  • Builds and maintains relationship with appropriate management and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Advises and provides management with recommendations on reinsurance transactions.
  • Analyzes Complex Actuarial models in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to prepare and review all required agreements and documentation while maintaining a strong working knowledge of each solution and its impact the organization.
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area/s of responsibility.
  • Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for his/her assigned area/s of responsibility.
  • Provides matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area/s of responsibility.
  • Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of his/her assigned area/s of responsibility.
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5- 7+ Years of modeling and/or analytics experience within the annuity or reinsurance industry.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Critical thinker with an ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or strategy.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients; proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
