RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform validation and analysis of variable annuity reserves and capital model results.
  • Develop and perform variable annuity statutory reserve attribution and analysis.
  • Coordinate with Financial Planning & Analysis and Enterprise Risk on financial plan and ORSA.
  • Partner with model development to ensure product features and assumptions are implemented.
  • Define necessary model runs for sensitivities, attribution, planning, and other financial analysis.
  • Review experience studies and propose assumption updates.
  • Prepare A/E exhibits for risk management purposes.
  • Review and validate data files to ensure accuracy.
  • Partner with modeling to implement VM-21 requirements.
  • Provide variable annuity reserves to Finance and assist with analysis of financials.
  • Perform documentation and other governance functions of modeling and reporting processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance, economics, math, physics, engineering or related field.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with an actuarial modeling platform such as MG-ALFA, Axis, etc.
  • Recent experience performing variable annuity valuations and capital assessment.
  • Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and database tools.
  • Willingness to work slices of unusual hours to expedite financial reporting tasks.
