RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage individual contributors with experience typically through the new or recently achieved FSA designation.
  • Develops goals, objectives, plans and priorities for the Valuation Modeling team.
  • Develops, manages use of, and maintains complex actuarial models in actuarial software such as MG-ALFA, AXIS, Polysystems, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring all valuation models, systems and components conform to modeling standards and internal controls as well as meeting regulatory standards.
  • Prepares and maintains model documentation, peer review reports and model change reports in compliance with internal controls.
  • Responds to valuation and financial questions from internal customers.
  • Identifies and participates in implementation of process improvements.
  • Perform actuarial studies to develop assumptions for mortality, persistency, expenses, etc.
  • Prepares and presents clear and concise analysis and recommendations to Senior Management and Line of Business leaders.
  • Responsible for performance reviews and other supervisory related tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or other related field required.
  • FSA preferred; ASA required; prefer 8+ years’ experience in product, valuation, or other actuarial related role.
  • Has developed conceptual and practical expertise in Actuarial area; strong actuarial knowledge that is easily shared with peers.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Access and VBA.
  • Experience with actuarial software such as MG-ALFA, AXIS, Polysystems, etc. preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to consult and present to executive leadership on technical subject material.
